  Generic Detector Sums are removed because array overflows are causing segfaults, and I need this functionality to work from a fresh install of the develop code. If we could go ahead and fix these bugs using the functionality implemented in the "new_io" branch, then the detector sum variables can be restored, but until then they only cause problems when non-trivial materials are included in the gdml geometries being simulated.
