Dear all,
I would like to propose to invite Frank Marhauser to give an accelerator seminar on July 16th, please see title and abstract below. Please let me know if you agree.
Thanks,
Gigi

Hello Gigi,
The date would be fine.
The title is:
A Method for In-Situ and In-Operando Cavity Loaded Q-Extraction in SRF Accelerators
Abstract:
A new method has been developed that allows extracting the loaded quality factor of SRF cavities
at any time during beam operation from acquired control system process parameters without the
need of additional measurement equipment. Concurrently it assesses the
attenuation in a cavities’ power transmission line for any RF generator to RF cavity mismatch condition, hence
any beam loading condition, and thus can correct calibration inaccuracies of measured forward and reflected power levels.
The described method has been applied first for all SRF cavities in operation at CEBAF using archived process variables.
The beneficial use of the method as a diagnostic tool is demonstrated for a finite
number of cavities with surprising revelations. Recommendations are provided that could help
improving CEBAF operation and its power efficiency.
Best Wishes!
Frank
