Hi Mike,
I can't guarantee full coverage for continuous video streaming anywhere on-site if the iPad will be moving. The wireless network was never designed to support that level of coverage. If the iPad will be stationary and you have a good WiFi signal, then yes, you should be able stream from that location. If you need to move with the iPad, we'll need to make sure that the path you will be taking allows the iPad to connect to a new AP before it loses its signal from the other.
Here's what I can tell you about the locations:
Above ground
* Tour of accelerator site
* CEBAF
* depends on where specifically - Sprint signal may be a better option
* Bldg 23
* one AP - may not cover the North-East part of the building
* Bldg 91/95
* No WiFi APs in either of these buildings
* There is an outdoor AP on B92 that might provide some coverage
* You would probably have better luck with the Sprint signal
* Test lab 58
* Fairly good WiFi coverage - depends on where you'll be moving
* CMSA
* Will need to rely on Sprint coverage
* Bldg 52/54
* Fairly good WiFi coverage
* B54 - depends on where - one AP in the southern part of the building
Beam enclosures
* N or S linac
* I've copied Brad Cumbia, he can give you a better idea of WiFi coverage in the tunnel
* One of the Halls
* Each of the Halls has WiFi, but it probably doesn't cover all areas - there's a lot that can block the signal
-Brent

Hi Brent,
We are tentatively planning a tour for the RadCon group and are awaiting a time for when a maintenance day will be available to access some RadCon areas to test out Wifi areas. Basically, RadCon wants to access the areas listed below (by David Hamlette) for a live stream for a tour. What we need to know is if those areas will have full coverage for continuous streaming because even if there is a slight chance that the stream can drop, we would need to come up with another approach to this tour. So please see David’s response below and Anita’s initial emails below and let us know your thoughts.
Thank you,
Mike Robbins

Good afternoon,
These are the areas we will likely want to "virtually" tour:
Above ground
* Tour of accelerator site
* CEBAF
* Bldg 23
* Bldg 91/95
* Test lab 58
* CMSA
* Bldg 52/54
Beam enclosures
* N or S linac
* One of the Halls
Keith may have some additional areas.

Dear David,
Happy Monday!
Event Services has reviewed the task regarding the Radcon Peer Review on November 8 and have some concerns about the task. Our biggest fear is internet failure which has been a known issue with CST. This will be the first time assisting with this task and we are not confident with the movement of iPads throughout these locations.
In our plans for the S1 tour, we tested the iPads to be placed in specific locations where the internet is known to be stable. According to CST, it is not stable in a good portion of the tunnels.
When we had our discussion, I had suggested no “windshield tour” and that the iPads would not walk with the presenter but be grounded on the monopods in the pre-determined and tested locations. The risk of the meeting failing will be too great in doing it in a mobile setting. We are willing to support your request but will need to know what static location you would want to record from with the use of the iPads. I have time this afternoon should you want to discuss it more.
