[ace] [New Logentry] About the Unable to Retrieve Data error message

It comes from attempting to retrieve open downtime events.  That background check is failing.  The apparent cause was installation of a new SSL certificate on the ace.jlab.org web server by CNI this morning.  The ability to talk to that server via curl from ACE workstations is currently broken.
