Folks,

For those on-site today during the tornado drill, do NOT go our normal shelter location inside the North Access building.  Because this is taking place during beam operations, Accelerator Operations will be running a ‘tabletop’ exercise in MCC in lieu.  When you hear the tornado siren, go to the control room (which I imagine may get pretty crowded).

Dear Colleagues,

On Tuesday, March 11, from 9:45-9:55 a.m., the lab will participate in a statewide tornado drill. The tornado warning siren will be activated at this time. This drill replaces the regularly scheduled monthly tornado warning siren test, which would have occurred Friday, March 7.

Lab management asks that everyone on-site participate and act in accordance with their area’s evacuation maps by moving to the nearest, designated tornado shelter during the drill. Evacuation maps are posted on walls in buildings across the site. Once in the shelter, wait until you receive an “all-clear” message via the RAVE emergency notification system before returning to your workspace. The message will be sent via phone call, text message and email.
