Dear Kawtar et al.,

I think one should refer to PAC29. Proposal is located here

https://www.jlab.org/exp_prog/proposals/06/PR06-015.pdf

In particular PAC29 report (see below) stated: The PAC felt that it is a good experiment to be done in the future.

I believe after 10 years the future has arrived.

Individual Proposal Report
Proposal: PR-06-015
Scientific Rating: N/A
Title: Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering on the Deuteron with CLAS at 6 GeV
Spokespersons: M. Amarian, L. Elouadrhiri, H. Juengst, F. Sabatie
Motivation: The proposal suggests to measure deuteron GPDs (H3 in particular) through single beam spin asymmetry using the CLAS detector.
Measurement and Feasibility: The measurement will be done at 6 GeV with a luminosity of 1.5 ·1034/cm2/s and a kinematical coverage of 0.1 < xB < 0.3 and 0.15 < -t < 1 GeV2 for Q2 > 1 GeV2. In additional to the standard CLAS configuration, the experiment requires the inner calorimeter and the solenoidal target magnet. It appears that the experiment is feasible.
Issues: The PAC felt that it is a good experiment to be done in the future. At present, however, priority shall be given to the proton GPD program and to fully understand its physics impact. The role of GPDs in nuclear physics is yet to be defined. In particular, one needs to understand what new information about the tensor structure of the deuteron can GPD H3 provide.
Recommendation: Defer

p.s. I am sure Simonetta will add something about deutron GPD’s based on the current state of the art.

Kawtar,
OK, I will write in some for the deuteron. I will be at the TMD Solid workshop, I should be able to work.
