Hello Everyone,

With the successful completion of the ALERT run and the uninstallation of the detector, I want to extend my deepest thanks to every single person who contributed to this effort.

The ALERT run was very successful, thanks to great accelerator and detector availability. We acquired almost exactly the amount of data expected. Despite not having full calibration in place yet, it looks like the detector performances are in line with our expectations. All of this looks great for the future outcome of the experiment.

This success is the accomplishment of a wonderful team composed of engineers, technicians, and scientists of all levels from undergraduate interns to senior physicists. All contributing with their own expertise and tackling an enormous amount of work over the years. It would be too long to list all of the people that contributed to the project, from the early discussions to the tedious construction and integration of the final ALERT detector, and of course including the many lines of codes written to simulate, monitor or reconstruct the data. All of it came together in JLab in the past few months to make this run the great success it was. A special thanks to those that held special jobs during the run, necessitating work during nights and week-ends.

Of course, this is not the end of the road, now starts the data analysis. The calibration process is already advancing fast and we will continue this work to get to the pass 1 processing as fast as possible. We already know the analysis after that will take a while and it will necessitate much more work, but I think we are all excited to start seeing some results very soon.

Thanks again to everyone for your contributions to the ALERT run group.

Raphael
