<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class="">Folks,<div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">As announced at the Hall B meeting yesterday, we are organizing an informal review for JLab Physics Division and </div><div class="">Hall B to go over schedule, status, issues/concerns, and manpower associated with the upcoming CLAS12 RG-L/ALERT </div><div class="">experiment that begins in Jan. 2025 with the goal to ensure that things are on track to have everything ready, to</div><div class="">commission the new ALERT detector, and to begin production data taking.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">The review is scheduled for Oct. 10 (next Thursday) from 9-11:30 a.m.. It will take place in L102 for those onsite</div><div class="">and via <a href="https://jlab-org.zoomgov.com/j/16083693689?pwd=ZUJLOFhucHNQMmZ4UkgvR1VoTm1WZz09&omn=1605656120" class="">Zoom</a> for those offsite.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">I have created a <a href="https://clasweb.jlab.org/wiki/index.php/CLAS12_ALERT_OCT2024_Review" class="">wikipage</a> with the agenda and the slides will be posted when they are available. The review will</div><div class="">have 3 main presentations:</div><div class=""> > Hardware status (Whitney Armstrong)</div><div class=""> > Software status (Michael Paolone)</div><div class=""> > Organization (Raphael Dupre)</div><div class="">The attached file contains a more detailed list of what will be discussed/covered in each presentation.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">The review is “informal” in the sense that a review committee has not been formed and a formal charge will not be</div><div class="">prepared. However, it is important to understand the current status of ALERT preparations and the schedule moving </div><div class="">forward, to identify areas where manpower is lacking, and to identify issues/concerns that could impact readiness. </div><div class="">The outcome of the review will be a full schedule for ALERT tasks that will be used as a basis for tracking the status </div><div class="">of the preparations for the run over the next 3 months.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">Please distribute this review announcement to folks in your group who should attend if they are not already on the</div><div class="">distribution list.
