Notification to the Jefferson Lab community:

On Friday, Feb. 17, a contractor slipped and fell while descending from 
a scaffold system on the Technology and Engineering Development 
Facility, or TEDF, construction site. The contractor was taken to the 
Riverside Hospital Emergency Department where he was diagnosed with a 
bruised back and back strain.

The mishap, which involved a Hydromobile Scaffold, is being 
investigated. But initial results indicate that workers need to be 
reminded to stay focused on their current task and need to maintain 
awareness of environmental changes that may affect their working 
conditions. This may require them to adjust their work task accordingly.
