All Jefferson Lab computer account holders:
The lab has been the target of intense phishing activity over the last
week, or so. Fake email messages that dealt with several subject areas
(webmail accounts, on-line bank accounts, and unclaimed money) came from
a number of different sources. In the case of one of these, simply
following a link in the message could result in compromise of the
victim's machine.
Please be vigilant and suspicious about ANY email that asks for personal
information or computer account information. If you have any doubt
about the validity of a message, forward it to helpdesk at jlab.org for advice.
Thank you.
/This message is being sent on behalf of the JLab Computer Center/IT
Division./
