The race is on to register for the 2014 Run-A-Round! 


The 29th Annual Jefferson Lab Run-A-Round will be held Wednesday, May 7, from 3 - 6 p.m. JLab staff, users, students, full-time contractors and immediate family members are invited to participate. Participating staff, users and volunteers receive a free 2014 JLab T-shirt. 


The event begins in front of CEBAF Center at 3 p.m. with the debut of the 2014 Jefferson Lab T-shirt. The run/walk starts promptly at 3:15 p.m. The run covers a flat 1.5 miles course meandering through scenic areas of the lab. 


Food, beverages, music and awards will follow the race. Awards will go to the top three overall male and female finishers and top three male and female finishers in each age group. The top five finishers in each age group will also receive a cool water bottle. Prizes will also be awarded to the top three finishers who pushed a stroller, with a child in it, for the whole course. 


Register for Run-A-Round by May 6 


Online registration is open on the JAG webpage at: http://www.jlab.org/intralab/committees/jag/ 


To be eligible for awards, runners and walkers must register online before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6. Individuals participating in the Stroller Division should sign up as a runner in their age/gender category to secure a race bib. Anyone pushing a stroller, with a child in it, and having a race bib, will be considered entered in the Stroller Division. 


Pick up your race bibs on Wednesday, May 7, between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the CEBAF Center lobby. 


Late registration will also be available from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, in the CEBAF Center lobby. Please keep in mind that individuals registering the day of the race are welcome, but will not be eligible for overall or age group awards. Please register yourself and your family members, even if you do not plan to compete, so that adequate refreshments can be provided. Also, staff and users must redeem their race bib at the T-shirt Distribution Tent to receive their free 2014 Jefferson Lab T-shirt.

Volunteer help is needed before, during and after the event in a variety of areas, including: 
-- Course and finish line monitor; 
-- T-shirt distribution; 
-- Staffing food, beverage and T-shirt distribution tents during the event; and 
-- Trash pickup during and breakdown after the event.

Parking Limited During Run-A-Round on May 7 

On the day of the Run-A-Round, for those want to leave early, the ARC parking lot will be the only lot available during the Run-A-Round race, 3 - 4 p.m. If you need to leave early, you should park as close to the ARC as possible and leave by way of Lawrence Drive onto SCOTT Road. The race route will use the back part of the parking area, and those who wish to leave early should use extreme caution. If at all possible, those who are participating in the race should leave the spaces near the front of the building open for others.
