Last week, Jefferson Lab experienced a network outage that impacted phone service. This event is still under review and plans for enhancing the network and phone system resiliency are underway. The Lab would also like to remind all personnel to review the emergency communication steps outlined below.
As always, to report an emergency, you should call 911 or 9-911 first. Then immediately call Jefferson Lab security (JLab extension 5822 or cell phone 757-342-9868) and advise them of the 911 call, and the nature and location of the emergency.
* In most cases, you can use a JLab land line - just find a nearby phone
* If the land line does not work, use your cell phone or the cell phone of someone nearby
* If your cell phone does not have a signal or if the call does not go through, exit the building and make your call outside
All Lab phones have an Emergency Action Card with important numbers and instructions for responding to an emergency event. For more information, you can also take a look at our Emergency Response Procedures, available at the following link:

If you have any questions or comments, please contact the Lab's Emergency Manager, Tina Menefee, at extension 5490, menefee at jlab.org , or 757-768-4030.
