JLab’s email list server was the victim of a spam attack this morning that impacted many of the JLab email lists. If you are a moderator for a JLab email list, be very suspect of any subscription requests you are asked to approve today .

At about 5:30 a.m. EDT, JLab began seeing multiple subscription requests to all JLab mailman mailing lists. This resulted in many emails being sent to mailman mailing list moderators asking for subscription approvals. We have removed any pending subscription requests we could find, but some may have been missed or forwarded to offsite email addresses. In addition, we have blocked offsite access to the mailman web interface pending a review.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the IT Division Helpdesk (x7155, helpdesk at jlab.org ).
