Reminder and Update: JLab IT Maintenance Period Scheduled for Today , 5-8 p.m. 

The IT Division is planning a maintenance period for 5-8 p.m. today , Nov. 15. During this time, there may be a couple of short internet outages, while network devices are reconfigured. The Zimbra email servers will suffer a short outage while they are rebooted to finalize patches and install updated certificates. Windows and Linux patches will also be released to managed desktops and servers. There may be short outages overnight while these servers are rebooted to finalize patch installation. Plan on rebooting your Windows or Linux desktop no later than Friday , Nov. 18, to finalize patch installation. 

Also during the IT Division Maintenance period this evening, an MIS database server will need to be brought down and reconfigured. This means that all MIS applications will be down starting at 6 p.m. All MIS apps will be back online no later that 8 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns about this maintenance period work, contact the IT Division Helpdesk at helpdesk at jlab.org or x7155.
