*CNI Group Works to Integrate macOS Sierra (10.12) into CUE*

The latest version of the macOS, Sierra (10.12), was released on 
Tuesday, Sept. 20. Starting today, Sierra will be available to customers 
as an automatic download via the App Store. The IT Division is currently 
working to integrate Sierra into the Common User Environment for 
Jefferson Lab-owned Macs. If you're currently using a Jefferson 
Lab-owned Mac, please do not install Sierra until further notice. Once 
the IT Division has integrated Sierra into the CUE, an announcement of 
support will be made, and you can then install Sierra on your Jefferson 
Lab-owned Mac.

*Save the Date: Say Cheese for the First All-Staff Photo in Two Decades!*

On Monday, Oct. 24, Jefferson Lab Public Affairs is planning to capture 
the first photo to be taken since 1996 of all staff members. All 
regular, term and casual staff members who receive their pay checks from 
Jefferson Science Associates, LLC, are invited to participate. The photo 
will be taken at 9:30 a.m. near CEBAF Center. Further details will be 
announced nearer the date. If you have questions about the event,

*Flatbed Trailer for Use by LCLS-II Only*

A flatbed trailer has been parked in the lay-down area on the 
Accelerator Site. The black curtain-side on the trailer has "Miller 
Transfer" printed in white letters, and a yellow Kingpin lock is 
installed on the fifth-wheel coupler. The trailer is strictly for use by 
the LCLS-II project for transporting cryomodules off-site; no other 
usage is authorized. If the trailer is impeding other work and needs to 
be moved, contact John Fischer at x7408. For other inquiries regarding 
the trailer, contact Naeem Huque at x7485.

*Plan to Come Out and Enjoy the JAG Oktoberfest on Oct. 27!*

Jefferson Lab employees and users are invited to the Jefferson Lab 
Activities Group (JAG) Oktoberfest scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 27, 3-6 
p.m. in the field behind the SURA Residence Facility. A variety of foods 
will be available, as well as games and activities, including a Bounce 
House and Pumpkin Toss. The United Way winning raffle tickets will be

*Volunteers Critical to Oktoberfest Success*

Volunteer participation is critical to the Oktoberfest's success. 
Volunteer positions are available for a variety of activities, ranging 
from tent set-up, replenishing food, distributing ID bracelets and clean

*Data Center Upgrade Work to Impact CEBAF Center F-Wing Access on 
Saturday, Oct. 8; Foam Insulation Installation Will Temporarily Block 
Emergency Exit Route*

Foam insulation will be installed in the Data Center on the first floor 
of the CEBAF Center F Wing on Saturday, Oct. 8. During this process, 
occupants may experience a musty odor on the first floor of the F 
Wing.Also, the F Wing’s K Stairwell and a portion of the first-floor 
hallway leading to that stairwell will be temporarily closed due to 
subcontractor insulation and air hoses impeding the walkway.Please avoid 
the first-floor, F Wing  hallway and K Stairwell on Saturday.More

*Tornado Warning Siren Test Set for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 7*

Jefferson Lab's tornado warning siren will undergo its monthly 
operational test at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. Don't respond to the 
siren; this is a test of the siren system and not a personnel response 
exercise. Individuals planning to be in the Central Materials Storage 
Area (where the siren is located) while the test is taking place must 
have with them and wear two layers of hearing protection.
