A web proxy has been configured for specific limited use of the
internet. This access will require a configuration change in your
browser. The following are examples of mission critical sites
available through the proxy at this time:<br>
<ul>
<li>arxiv.org : A website for submitting / archiving / retrieving
nuclear physics papers<br>
</li>
<li>www-spires.fnal.gov : A comprehensive database of High Energy
Physics paper </li>
<li>doe.gov, energy.gov : The Department of energy website<br>
</li>
<li><span class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated"><a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.fnal.gov">www.fnal.gov</a></span> :
Fermi National Laboratory (and other DOE Labs)<br>
</li>
</ul>

<h2> Windows Users: General and Internet Explorer<br>
</h2>
<ol>
<li> From the Start menu, open the Control Panel</li>
<li> Open Internet Options. If you do not see this option,
search for "Internet Options" and click on the link when it
returns.</li>
<li> Select the 'Connections' tab and then 'LAN Settings'</li>
<li> Make sure that <u></u>only 'Automatically detect settings'
is checked<br>

<p><u>IMPORTANT NOTE:</u> If you use <strong>Firefox</strong> as
your primary browser, please be sure to make the following
changes too:</p>
<h2> Windows Firefox users</h2>
<ol>
<li> From the Tools menu, select Options</li>
<li> Go to Advanced</li>
<li> Select the 'Network' tab</li>
<li> Under Connections, select the 'Settings...' button</li>
<li> Select radio button for 'Auto-detect proxy settings for
this network'</li>
</ol>
<h2> Linux Firefox users</h2>
<ol>
<li> From the Edit menu, select Preferences</li>
<li> Go to Advanced</li>
<li> Select the 'Network' tab</li>
<li> Under Connections, select the 'Settings...' button</li>
<li> Select radio button for 'Auto-detect proxy settings for
this network'</li>
</ol>
<h2> Macintosh Users & Safari</h2>
<ol>
<li> Go to System Preferences</li>
<li> Click on "Network"</li>
<li> Click on the lock in the bottom right hand corner to
authenticate to make changes</li>
<li> Click on "Advanced"</li>
<li> Click on the "Proxies" tab</li>
<li> Click on the checkbox "Auto Proxy Discover"</li>
</ol>
<h2> Chrome Browser (Windows)</h2>
<ol>
<li> Customize and control Google Chrome (the wrench)<br>

<li> Network --> Change proxy settings...</li>
