All Staff and Users, <br>

General web and ssh outbound access to the Internet is now available
for the standard desktop networks for Level 1 and Level 2 systems
(i.e. Windows systems with admin provided by the Computer Center)
plus Level 3 systems (mostly Macs). <br>
<ul>
<li>To get immediate access log into the CC proxy setup page (<a
href="https://cc.jlab.org/proxysetup">https://cc.jlab.org/proxysetup</a>),
go through all of the steps except at the last step un-check
Auto detect proxy setting, save and exit your browser. Then, go
back to the CC proxy setup page and re-enable the Auto detect
setting. For some browsers, this will happen automatically
within a few hours. If not, just go through the un-check and
re-enable steps.</li>
</ul>
Solutions for other systems to access the Internet that are in
Accelerator, Business Services, etc. will be worked group by group
and in many cases are not yet available. As they become available,
group specific instructions are being provided to the groups. <br>
<br>
IMPORTANT: Independently of how admin is provided for the system, if
you have a Windows system that has not been on the network for some
time AND it is used to control equipment, contact the helpdesk
before bringing it back on to the network. <br>
<br>
Additional web based applications are continuing to be brought back
on line. <br>
