_*Jefferson Lab to Launch Carpool Program*_

Jefferson Lab will launch a carpool program on Friday, March 15.

On that day, those who carpool -- at least two occupants per vehicle --
will be able to park in reserved parking spaces that will be located
across Jefferson Lab. The parking spaces will be marked with a special
carpool sign. These spaces will provide those who carpool with
convenient access to the buildings in which they work or visit. A map of
the carpool parking spaces is available
http://www.jlab.org/fm/energymanagement/

The carpool program is being administered by Facilities Management &
Logistics. If you have questions or comments about the program, contact
Bill Mooney (Mooney at jlab.org <mailto:mooney at jlab.org> or ext. 5461).

No registration is required to participate in the program, but
Facilities Management is interested in collecting information on those
who carpool to ensure it is providing an adequate number of spaces in
helpful locations. You can assist in this effort by completing a simple
form available at http://www.jlab.org/fm/energymanagement/ that seeks
basic information, such as where you work and how often you carpool.
More than 15 carpool spaces will be available at the start of the
program, with more to be added as needed.

The carpool program is part of the lab's sustainability effort, which
calls for a reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions from all
sources. GHG emissions are released to the atmosphere through various
activities, including vehicle emissions. Carpooling is one method to
reduce emissions, helping the lab in its efforts to meet GHG reduction
goals set by the Department of Energy.
