[All_jlau] JAG Announces Holiday Activities; Seeks Volunteers to Help w/Childrens Party

*U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Toy Drive Underway*

Jefferson Lab is participating in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's annual 
Toys for Tots toy drive. Place your new, unwrapped toy donations for 
children 1-12 years old no later than 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9. Collection 
boxes are available near the main entrances of CEBAF Center, MCC, SSC, 
ARC and TED Buildings. The toy donations will be delivered to the 
Marines on Dec. 10 at the JAG Children’s Holiday Party.

*Holiday Party on Dec. 10 for Jefferson Lab Children and the Young at Heart*

The JAG Holiday Party is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10 a.m.-1 
p.m. in the CEBAF Center lobby. All employees, contractors, users and 
their children are invited. Families are encouraged to bring a new, 
unopened, unwrapped toy for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for 
Tots

toy drive. Get your child’s picture taken with Santa Claus, who plans to 
drop by with the snow dogs, Nikko and Tally. (Owners Dan and Kim Young 
are members of the JAG Dog Training Club, and Nikko and Tally are 
trained service dogs). Come and enjoy holiday-themed games, crafts, 
balloons, face painting and light snacks. All children must be 
accompanied by an adult.

*Many Volunteers Needed to Help With the Children's Holiday Party*

Volunteers are needed to help with the JAG holiday party as bounce 
house, craft table, food room and Santa's helper elves. More than 25 
volunteer spots are still open. Adults and youth (aged 12 and older) 
planning to attend the party are asked to consider signing up to help 
for one hour during the party. Sign uponline

*Rattley Road Entrance Closed on Saturday, Dec. 10*

All Holiday Party attendees and volunteers, please note: The entrance to 
Rattley Road at Hogan Drive will be closed on Saturday, Dec. 10 for 
installation of piping under the road. That day, from 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m., 
incoming traffic may use the Lawrence Drive entrance at Hogan Drive. 
Incoming and outgoing traffic may use the lab’s main entrance at 
Lawrence Drive and Jefferson Ave.See the attached map for detour routes 
and open entrance/exit routes.

*Ready, Set, Hang Those Decorations*

The JAG Holiday Office Door/Cubicle Decorating Contest

is underway. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Decorated, Most 
Original Decoration, and the Geekiest. All employees, users and 
contractors with an office or cubicle at JLab may enter the contest 
(individuals and groups). To enter, you must email JAG Chair Mary Jo 
Bailey at mbailey at jlab.org or call ext. 7277 by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16. 
Include your name(s), building number and office/cube location. Judging 
will take place Monday, Dec. 19. Winning entries will be announced 
Tuesday, Dec. 20.

Decorating materials should be fire resistant and only UL-approved 
lighting/electronics may be used. Don’t use open flames or food-based 
items in your decorations. Decorations mused be taken down by Jan. 3.
