honoring the contributions and accomplishments of Hermann Grunder,
Jefferson Lab's founding director, on the occasion of his 80th
birthday.<br>

A short program will begin at 3:30 p.m.<br>

The cutting of a special cake will follow, with light snacks and
beverages.<br>
<br>
Past and present members of the Jefferson Lab community and
Department of Energy Site Office staff, on-site users and students,
and special guests are invited to celebrate Hermann's many
scientific and programmatic accomplishments, and his years of
distinguished service to the international nuclear physics community
and the national laboratory system.<br>
<br>
Hermann's insight, leadership and conviction made CEBAF the first
large accelerator to use superconducting radiofrequency technology
and set the stage for accelerator industrialization, advanced
capabilities and precision research in the 21st century. <br>
