The JLab Occupational Medicine office has received 30 doses of the H1N1
vaccine. This initial allotment will be administered to employees with
the following conditions:
- Pregnancy
- Asthma
- Diabetes
If you have any of these conditions and would like to get an H1N1
vaccine, please call Occupational Medicine to make an appointment. Call
ext. 7539 for an appointment. These medical conditions are being given
vaccination priority because they have been associated with increased
risk of complications from H1N1.
H1N1 vaccine distribution is controlled by the Public Health
system. Several months ago, Occupational Medicine gained approval to be
a vaccine administration site. At that time, we requested 300 doses. We
have now received our first allotment of 30 doses. We do not know
whether or when we will receive additional doses, but we are cautiously
optimistic. We will keep the Lab informed of new developments.
Thank you,
Dr. Smitty Chandler
