Jefferson Lab's 2010 Open House will take place on Saturday, May 1.
Participation across the entire JLab community is what makes this event
a success. We are seeking lab staff, users and family members over age
13 to help with a variety of general event activities.
Event volunteers are needed as bus stop attendants, bus monitors,
greeters and walking path monitors. Sign up online now at:
http://www.jlab.org/openhouse/volunteer.html for the full day, 8:30
a.m. - 4 p.m., or half-day shifts. This web signup is only for
volunteers helping with general event activities.
Volunteers leading tours or staffing displays or activities for specific
programs or locations should sign up through their supervisor with the
area's open house coordinator. Coordinators are listed at the end of
this e-mail.
All volunteers will receive a T-shirt to wear the day of the event.
General event volunteers should indicate their size when they sign up
online. Area open house coordinators will take T-shirt sizes for the
volunteers in their respective areas. Sizes are not guaranteed and will
be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the volunteer
briefing.
Please direct volunteer questions to Open House Volunteer Coordinator
Tina Menefee, ext. 5490, cell 768-4030 or e-mail menefee at jlab.org . She
will confirm general event volunteer shifts and schedule your volunteer
position.
All volunteers must attend a briefing in the CEBAF Center Auditorium at
one of the following times:
Monday, April 26, 9 a.m.
Tuesday, April 27, 1 p.m.
Thursday, April 29, 3 p.m.
Hourly employees will be paid, with advance approval from their supervisors.
Please be aware: Due to ongoing construction, crowds and road closures
for the event, there will be limited parking on the accelerator site on
May 1. Open House volunteer parking will be in the lots behind CEBAF
Center and adjacent to the VARC and ARC Buildings. A shuttle for
volunteers will run from 7:30 a.m. until the volunteer parking lots are
clear.
