/The following announcement was issued today by the Department of Energy:/

All,

I am pleased to announce of behalf of the Office of Science the 
selection of Joseph Arango as the Manager of the Thomas Jefferson Site 
Office.  The effective date of Joe's transfer will be 27 February 
2011.In this role, Joe serves as the senior federal official responsible 
for the DOE line management oversight of the Thomas Jefferson National 
Accelerator Facility.  Joe has served in the Office of Science for the 
past two years, first as the Senior Technical Advisor for the Deputy 
Director for Field Operationsand most recently as the Acting Manager of 
the Princeton Site Office.  Joe has over 16 years experience in the 
Department working for the Environmental Management program and in the 
Office of the Departmental Representative to the Defense Nuclear 
Facilities Safety Board.  Joe is a retired Captain from the Navy Reserve 
and has a Masters degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from 
Virginia Tech and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the 
Naval Academy.

important career milestone!
