 > We are pleased to announce the selection of John Warren as the Public 
Affairs Manager for the Lab. John spent eighteen years of his career 
working in the newspaper industry where his responsibilities ranged from 
covering government relations for the state and writing a business 
column, to serving as the copy editor for the Virginian Pilot. During 
his tenure in the newspaper industry John also managed a team of writers 
and photographers. John's most recent position has been the Public 
Relations Manager for the Mariners' Museum where he was responsible for 
a myriad of activities that include staff management, marketing and 
branding, directing the social media functions, acting as spokesperson 
for all communications as well as writing and designing publications. 
John is a thirteen-time Virginia Press Association award winner.

 > John received his Bachelor of Arts in English, Journalism & 
Communications from Averett College. John will be joining the Lab on 
August 4, 2014.
