Dear Colleagues,

The Open House - Jefferson Lab's most important and largest public
outreach event - is April 30, and I am writing to ask for your help. The
key to the success of the Open House is our volunteers.

In 2014, about 6,000 people attended the Open House, and we are
expecting a similar turnout this year. The visitors were excited to see
many of the lab’s facilities and were interested to learn about what we do.

We need hundreds of volunteers to execute the event - you and your
co-workers, members of our user community, students, and even our family
members 13 years of age and older. This year, we are planning to show
portions of the CEBAF tunnel, Halls A, Cand D, a portion of the TED
Building, the Test Lab, CEBAF Center, the Machine Control Center, the
Central Helium Liquefier (CHL) and the Low Energy Recirculator Facility
(LERF). Many other lab work groups will have displays and exhibits under
tents, in conference rooms and in lobby areas.

The volunteers will fill a wide range of roles - from interactive roles
requiring specialized knowledge to guiding the flow of pedestrian
traffic. You can work the entire event (eight hours), or a four-hour
morning or afternoon shift.

To volunteer, you can sign up online at:

*Please register by Friday, April 8.* If you have any questions,
contact Open House Volunteer Coordinator, Mike Robbins, at
mrobbins at jlab.org or 269-7617.

Please join us. We need your help to make this a successful event. I
know you will find it to be a fulfilling experience.

Regards,

Mont
