Completing Radiation Worker I training at JLab is a multi-step
process. You must complete ALL steps before you are considered RW-I
qualified.

To take the Practical Factors Exercise (practicum) segment, you MUST
make an appointment, in advance. Contact Maya Keller, ext. 6021, to
reserve a spot. The practicum sessions are normally offered on
weekdays at 2 p.m.; however, due to the large number of people
requiring Radiation Worker training for the Six-Month Shutdown,
extra practicum sessions can be scheduled. Please, coordinate
such needs with Maya, in advance. Openings may not be immediately
available on short notice!

Remember: the RW-I qualification is composed of several parts and
all parts must be completed before you can be rated RW-I:

1. Training (SAF 801C) - normally done online by reviewing a Flash
presentation (be sure to get credit by registering through the link
at the end). Classroom training is offered once per quarter.
2. A written test (SAF 801T) - taken in the VARC, the RadCon
trailer, or the User Liaison Office.
3. A one hour Practical Factors Exercise (SAF 801P) - normally
offered at 2 p.m. weekdays. Contact Maya Keller, ext. 6021, to
schedule your appointment!
4. Don't forget to sign the General Access Radiological Work Permit
(GARWP 2011) and fill out a dosimetry request form.

SAF 801C and the General Access RWP are available online through
JLab's web-based training page at:
