Jefferson Lab’s Public Affairs Manager, John Warren, is moving on
to new opportunities. His last day at the lab is June 15. The lab
community is grateful for the perspective and experience he shared
during his tenure as Public Affairs manager, and we wish him well
as he pursues a new chapter in his life and career.

John brought new initiatives to the Jefferson Lab Public Affairs
program, as the lab observed significant 12 GeV Upgrade milestones
and began 12 GeV operations. He worked to bring Governor Terry
McAuliffe to the lab to address lab staff and users at a
celebration marking Department of Energy approval to re-start
operations for the CEBAF accelerator, helped facilitate an event
hosted by the City of Newport News to familiarize city officials
with the lab, and coordinated communications and outreach efforts
for the sixth International Particle Accelerator Conference. Most
recently, John and his team led the coordination of the April 30
Open House – an outstanding event that shared the lab’s
capabilities and science program with a record-breaking attendance
of 12,000.
The lab is initiating a search for a new Public Affairs manager.
The search committee is being formed and the position will soon be
announced. Until this position is filled, Kandice Carter has
agreed to serve as acting manager. This will be effective today,
June 15. Kandice has served as the lab's science writer for 12
years and has been an integral member of the Public Affairs staff.
Please give Kandice and her team your support during the search
and transition process.
