Dear collaborators,
so far the experiment seems to be on track to get beam this evening.
The O-ring was replaced this morning and the chamber is being pumped
down we will know later in the afternoon how good the vacuum is.
The downstream beam pipe was replaced by a 1.5 in pipe so we could fit
the corrector magnet without breaking the vacuum for the commissioning
of the corrector magnet..
The checklist will be started after lunch, all the magnets were
operational for the Left HRS and will be powered up again.
The Left arm cabling is almost complete, VDC and pion rejector were
cabled. The Gas Cerenkov is in process to be cabled with shorter delay
lines.
Bob, Sergey and the students are working on the trigger right now.
A few short cosmics run were taken

only one amplifier discriminator card seems to cause problems, it will
get fixed or be left unplugged.
So Left HRS checking out is going on but everything should be ready by
this evening.
Jack has started working on the Right Arm, the preshower was put in.
We will have confirmation that the vacuum is in good shape in a few
hours but if everything goes well we should be ready to get beam this
evening.
I think I was call for the sweep at beginning of swing shift around 5 PM.
It seems that Dave Meekins will be able to cool down the target on
Saturday, I am checking to get cryo support and get this organized.
Best regards,
Alexandre
