[BDXlist] Added Drift appendix to git

Dear collaborators,

Dan sent me a docx version of the Drift appendix, which I have converted 
to LaTeX and committed to our repository. For anyone updating the code 
please note in particular that the references have been updated, so 
please update your source before committing new changes.

Also, it seems that previous updates to the repository 
BDX-proposal_BDXprototype.tex is pointing to figs/BDX_Proto.pdf, which 
is not been uploaded and creates errors on LaTeX compilation. I assume 
this is just a placeholder, but it might be useful to add a dummy file 
to the repository so that compilations can proceed without errors.
