Dear collaborators,
This morning we had a seminar by Jorge Morfin from Fermilab discussing
systematics of neutrino cross section measurements. The whole discussion
may be of interest to us as we expect neutrino interactions to be our
main source of beam backgrounds. His talk can be found at
https://www.jlab.org/intralab/calendar/phys_seminar/2018/Jlab-Seminar3-21Sep18morfin.pdf.
I had a chance to talk to Jorge after the seminar about background
sources to BDX. He promised to make a list of potential neutrino
backgrounds that we should think about.
He was also advertising a workshop, which will include discussions of
GENIE and FLUKA simulations at the Gran Sasso October 11-13. Jorge is
very interested in making new connections with similar interest and
encouraged participation. If someone from our collaboration is
interested, take a look at the attached slide with workshop information.
I'm sure more information can be found on the web.
Cheers, Elton.
