Dear Marco,
That is great news. I would be interested in running and analyzing simulations for the future project.

Oggetto: [BDXlist] [EXTERNAL] BDX experiment got re-approved by PAC51!
Dear BDXers,
the PAC51 committee granted the renewal to BDX experiment!
During the closout session it was not mentioned explicitly (only
reported the final decision) but from an informal conversation with a
PAC member, it seems we convinced the committee about: - the physics
case still up-to-date, - the reach of the experiment wrt the others; -
the commitment of the BDX Collaboration.
They also recognized the urgency to run the experiment (in competition
with NA64) pushing on lab leadership to schedule BDX in the same time
window of the Moeller experiment.
We will have a meeting with the lab leadership in the next few weeks to
workout a plan to make real the BDX-PIPE option we discussed at the last
meeting. It seems very likely that the wells will be dug starting soon
and staged in the next few years (the ideal would be 5 per years for the
next 3 years).
We should wait for mid August to read the full text in the PAC51 report.
I'll send around as soon as available
Considering the great news and the significant work expected in the next
months (re-design the detector, background simulation, investigation of
BDX sensitivity to different DS scenario such as scalar DM, iDM, L-B
coupling, ..., actions to procure ~5000 PbWO crystals, actions to seek
funding for the detector, ...) we will resume our weekly meeting
starting from September. I'll send a doodle around to find a convenient
time
Thanks to everybody for the important result: we start seeing the light
at the end of the ... pipe!
Cheers
Marco
