This workshop is dedicated to exploring<br>the physics and engineering challenges of beam diagnostics and<br>measurement techniques for charged particle accelerators. BIW12 is<br>being hosted by Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. The<br>meeting program will include tutorials on selected topics, invited and<br>contributed talks, as well as plenary and poster sessions and vendor<br>exhibits. The recipient of the 2012 Faraday Cup Award, sponsored by<br>Bergoz Instrumentation, Inc., will also be announced.<br><br>The conference website is <a href="http://www.jlab.org/conferences/BIW12">http://www.jlab.org/conferences/BIW12</a> , and<br>includes program information, abstract submission, and registration links.<br><br>Abstract submission is now open on the following topics:<br><br> * Beam charge and current monitors<br> * Beam loss detection<br> * Beam position monitoring<br> * Data acquisition technologies<br> * Feedback and beam stability<br> * Longitudinal diagnostics and synchronization<br> * Overview and commissioning of facilities<br> * Transverse profiles, screens, and wires<br> * Transverse and longitudinal emittance measurements<br> * Tune monitors and measurements<br><br>The workshop dinner will be held at the Virginia Living Museum (<br><a href="http://www.thevlm.org/">http://www.thevlm.org/</a> ) on Wednesday April 18, and your banquet<br>ticket will include admission to this lovely museum with elements of a<br>native wildlife park, science museum, aquarium, botanical preserve and<br>planetarium.
