Dear Bonusites,
yesterday I met Bob Miller, he asked me a couple of questions (and more in the email below) about some safety features of the RTPC and some concerns about the DMS. I appreciate to check or complete the answers I plan to send to Bob. My comments in red, answers from me in blue.
Thank you
-Carlos
P.S. let me know if you have problems to visualize the email, I am using the Office365 features

Hi Carlos,
I have a few more questions on the Bonus 12 target and detector gas systems:
-DMS (this is mainly to Nathan)
1. where are the gas connections?
2. is there a mounting feature on the detector, or will it sit on a shelf?
(Bob's idea is having the DMS attached to the gas panel. I didn't said anything against, but I don't not if this possible or desirable)
3. is there any radiation shielding required?
4. what is the maximum internal pressure allowed? The system currently has a 1 psi check valve to act as a relief valve; is the 1 psi acceptable?
-RTPC
1. what is the expected operating pressure in the buffer and RTPC volumes
The pressure in the Drift region should be 1atm+epsilon, thus the buffer volumen should be (1atm+epsilon)+epsilon' (lightly higher than the drift region)
2. what is the maximum pressure in these volumes? An over pressure device will be added to protect the detector
I don't know if we have these estimations. Nevertheless, Bob is adding extra protection to avoid overpressure, e.g. bubblers.
Regards,
Bob
