Dear BONuSites,
as you have seen from Mohammad’s pictures, it’s really happening - our RTPC is installed in the Central Detector of CLAS12, and after some final survey we will be ready to take data. The present plan is to take cosmic data with the full CLAS12 DAQ overnight, and then ramp up the solenoid tomorrow during day shift. After that, we will take another cosmic run to check the proper track reconstruction WITH B-field. On Wednesday morning, 8:00 p.m., we are officially “on” - MCC will set up 1-pass beam to begin commissioning and calibration of the RTPC (as well as the FMT and other detectors as needed). We have 48 hours at 2.14 GeV, followed by the begin of 10.4 GeV running.
As a consequence, we will start with our daily run coordination meetings TOMORROW, Tuesday February 11, 2020. These meetings will be held in the upstairs conference room in the Counting House every day unless cancelled by the run coordinator. Many of you should have already received automated invitations - if not, make sure you put those on your calendar. The usual BONuS Bluejeans call-in (757 683 5804) applies.(Speaking of run coordinators, there still is ONE slot free for someone who doesn’t want to miss out on the fun: April 15-21. Hurry, this offer won’t last! ;-)
For the same reason, we also won’t have our REGULAR BONuS meeting this Thursday in F326-7 - we simply replace it with the run coordination meeting in the CH.
Meanwhile, make sure to familiarize yourself with the Run Group F run page
https://wiki.jlab.org/clas12-run/index.php/Run_Group_F
and all of the operational manuals etc. at
https://www.jlab.org/Hall-B/run-web/index_rgf.html
Also, anyone coming to the Counting House or Hall B should read through the yellow binder of documentation and sign it.
Bonus points (haha) for anyone who makes constructive comments on how to improve the documentation.
Onwards to a successful run! - Sebastian
[P.S.: There will be more opportunities to say thanks, but for now, I want to acknowledge all of the people who have done an amazing job working long hours over the last 1-2 weeks to get us to this point:
