    1 2009-07-29 Wed Agenda--Notes

    * Close out of the Summer Sad
          o Gun status SOURCE
                + Inverted gun is producing electrons!!!
                + Conditioned to 110kV without any problems
                + Presently operating at 100kV
                + Preliminary lifetime of 70C!!!!
                + Preliminary injector setup by Reza -- found bumps in
                  0L04 and 0R03? regions. These are not new, but what is
                  the cause? Some of these bumps are 4mm!
          o HKS status Spata
            Mike is at the beach for the remainder of the week. HKS
            installation is nearing the end. Lots of work on the
            diagnostics, final hookups and checkout. Should be able to
            complete the work as per the schedule.
          o Hardware Status Lauze
            Ron is also on vacation.
    * Startup Plans
          o Quick review of the schedule Arne
          o Gun/Injector plans SOURCE
                + 2009-07-30 Thu More lifetime studies, beam on 8am to 11pm
                + 2009-07-31 Fri Laser table orientation for Parity
                  personnel. Inj open.
                + 2009-08-03 Mon-- 2009-08-05 Wed Parity alignment on
                  the laser table.
                + 2009-08-05 Wed Parity Beam characterization up to
                  500kV. Yves might be involved with this.
                + 2009-08-05 Wed PSS certification of Injector
                + 2009-08-06 Thu Reza start full injector setup and
                  finalization
                + 2009-08-07 Fri Reza complete Injector setup
                + 2009-08-08 Sat-- 2009-08-09 Sun More injector work? or
                  start machine setup.
          o Machine Restoration All

                      # Before beam is restored, but after EES has RF
                        up, Tief needs an eight period to perform some
                        studies on how far the Master Oscillator can be
                        changed and keep the cavities under control.
                + 7.5% unbalanced
                  A discussion as to the best approach to get to the
                  desired setup of 5.76 GeV with a 7.5% unbalanced
                  configuration.

                            * JB has created a high energy MST file from
                              the 6.07 GeV test in June.
                            * Use this file to scale to 5.76 GeV, balanced.
                            * Spin up 5.76 balanced and check out systems
                            * Go unbalanced from here

                            * Check out the hardware

                        zones should have Q measurements performed

                      # C50-9 commissioning
                        Time for C50-9 to start commissioning should be
                        carved out if restoration goes smoothly and the
                        halls are late.
                      # Optics on Call
                        JB will has populated the schedule. Please
                        confirm that you are available during the week
                        assigned.
