[Bteam] Formation of the Injector Design and Support Group within the Operations Department.

   Colleagues:
      When we reviewed the issues with beam delivery in Jan/Feb of this
      year, the need for a strong/deep Injector  Support Group was
      identified and turned into an action item.   I am pleased to
      announce the official formation of this group (Injector Design
      and Support Group) within the Operations
      Department.  The group will consist of, Reza Kazimi (Group
      Leader), Alicia Hofler, Yan Wang.   In addition these individuals, 
Curt
      Hovater will be matrixed to this group to support project
      management of the injector upgrade and any other projects owned
      by this group.

      The Injector Group will be responsible for supporting Injector
      operations and for bringing to completion the ongoing Injector
      Upgrade effort.  The injector upgrade is a large effort which will 
make
      the CEBAF injector 12GeV compatible as well as making substantial
      improvements to ease of establishing parity quality
      beam.    These projects are expected to continue for the next
      several years and include upgrading the injector energy to
      125MeV, a new quarter cryomodule, optimizing the arrangement of
      the warm RF section and optimizing the injector for a 200keV gun.

      In addition, to this change, the Analysis High Application Group
      leader will now be Michele Joyce (replacing me).  Michele has
      been the de facto group leader for a while now as my other
      responsibilities have consumed me.  This is not meant to minimize
      this transition, but to remind people that all the good work
      coming from the AHLA group should be attributed to Michele's
      leadership, not mine.

      So join me in congratulating Michele and Reza in their ascension
      to group leader and please support them in their new role.

      I'd like to  thank Yan, Alicia and Curt for agreeing to take
      on these new roles.  Welcome back to OPS, Alicia!

      The impact of Yan formally leaving the OPSMCC group is still
      being worked out.  For now Noel will run the group without a
      formal deputy.  Yan will work with Noel and the OPSMCC crew
      chiefs in transitioning his direct reports to new
      supervisors over the next few months(to be completed by
      Sept. 30th).

      Details:  The Injector group will be known organizationally as
      OPSINJ and will manage upgrade projects and the new (in FY12)
      RSRINJ project.   Office moves will be worked out in the next few
      months.

      A copy of the new Operations Department organization chart is 
attached.
