LEM Part II 
Jay presented the second half of the LEM talk prepared by Geoff and Jay. Linac gradients for a particular energy have historically been optimized to minimize the RF trip rate. Early attempts to add cryo heat load to the algorithm had been unsuccessful. Geoff/Jay present a proposal for using La gra nge Multiplier technique to optimize the system. 

Schedule Update 
Arne presented an update to the schedule with changes that are being driven by the need to warm up the North Linac to 4K. 
Potential impacts: 


    * Delay start of beam operations from Nov-04 to Nov-09. Similar shift in HCO. 
    * Run over Thanksgiving, adds 5 days to the beam schedule. 
    * Defer North Linac LEM Fault collection data to 2014-Jan. 
    * Defer R100 commissioning to 2014-Jan. Coast through R100, inject beam at 35MeV during the Nov/Dec run. 

Operations Training and Channel Access for CASA staff 
Noel presented slides for the Ops training program with specific emphasis on the required courses and procedure for a non-operations Control Room support person. 

T o be trained you must : 


    1. 
Obtain approval from the Director of Accelerator Operations (Arne) 
    2. 
Have an accelerator controls network account (ACE ). Y ou can re quest an accoun t by filling out an AC_PR . 
    3. 
Request access to the MAC training curriculum by sending an email to N oel Okay. 
    4. 
Complete the required MAC training curriculum. 

The required courses are listed below. Paul estimates that it should take someone 8-16 hours to complete the cou rse work. The last two modul es are being presented live next Thursday. They are also being taped if you can't make the live session next week.
