Hello All,
This past weekend we managed to steer beam to 1R. We completed phasing of most RF zones, and even managed to find the spot on the 1A SLM. There are some delays in the readiness of the ARC2 dipole, which means we might have some extra time to perform studies with beam to 1R. Now is the perfect time to take advantage if you have any tests in mind. RF group has right of way during day shift plus any time into swing shift that they want, but there should be time available in the early evening for beam studies.
A recent call for beam studies has been sent to the INJ group as well, so we'll need to coordinate what is happening and when. The PD is the current point of contact for scheduling. Here's a list of some ideas I'd like to get populated with planned dates/shifts. Please chime in if you have anything you'd like to do.
-NL Gradient Calibration (Slominski/Carpenter - TBD)
-1A SLM Bunchlength Measurement/Study (Freeman - TBD)
-FE Data Collection (Carpenter/Sulieman/Tennant - TBD)
-Test New Emittance Measurement Software @1E (Turner - TBD)
-Quad Centering 1L/1S/1A (??? - TBD)
-Beam Based Polarity Tests (A soft request from Sarin, specifically for some of the new style quads that were installed in the NL)
Please respond with what you'd like to do and days you would be available to complete tests. I don't know how long we'll be limited to 1R.
