Here are the notes from today's BTeam meeting. Note that there are
beam studies tomorrow<br>
(May 8) that start with 5h of PEPPo/C100, followed by 5h of
optics/modeling. There are<br>
likely no beam studies scheduled for next week. As the run is
closing out, IPAC'12 is near,<br>
then Memorial Day, and I will be on travel, there will be no BTeam
meeting the next three<br>
weeks. BTeam will likely resume in early June for analysis reports
of data, including TODO<br>
items below on evaluation of optics and BPM performance to provide
input for LSD.<br>

<li>Cryo is available starting Jan 2013 so there will be 9+
mo for testing pre-startup<br>

<h2 id="sec-3">3 Yves: LOCO analysis of ARC4/ARC6 MBB dipoles</h2>
<ul>
<li>Now adjusting perturbation of model to data rather than
other way around. Definitely has improved fitting approach.
This is classic LOCO approach except we have an upper diagonal
response matrix.<br>

<li>Discussion of measurements, H steel saturation vs mechanical
issues<br>
</li>
<li>Yves wants extra point for MBB (3) and points for MBA<br>
</li>
<li>Assumed BPM accuracies of 200 um for all BPMs (not driven by
data)<br>
</li>
<li>Todd: Objective is to start machine in 12 GeV era from model
and not from current machine settings.<br>
</li>
<li>Arne: Grand vision, LEM sets energy distribution, then know
how to fit energy gradient, arc energy for matching and set
quad values better than currently (not) set<br>

<li>Concern is spreaders and recombiners, but Yves hopes Spata's
method can step into this breach.<br>

<li>Vertical matches modeled injector/linac (from set magnet
strengths) very well<br>

<li>Horizontal, however, is a problem even in injector chicane:
mismatch clear!<br>

<li>Another takeaway: Fix arc BPMs<br>

<li>There is no underlying intent to rework BPMs for LSD<br>
</li>
<li>Arne has had to truncate RSR engineering support budget
to actual already<br>

<li>May get some support from Omar/Pete, lobby to get
funding in FY13<br>
