June 11, 2013
ARC 231/233 @ 1:30 p.m.
ATTENDEES:
Arne Freyberger, Michele Joyce, Theo Larrieu, Mike Tiefenback, Dennis Turner, Rui Li, Alicia Hofler, Yves Roblin, Balsa Terzic,
Audrey Barron, Mike Spata, Steve Suhring, Mike Bevins, Vasiliy Morozov, Paul Vasilauskis, Yan Wang, Fanglei Lin, Ken Baggett
AGENDA:
1. Status of Deck Release (Roblin)
2. HLA Support from CASA (Joyce)
3. Director's Commissioning Review (Freyberger/Spata)
Status of Deck Release
-Found an inconsistency in sign of edge focusing for some magnets in Spreaders and Recombiners. Need to go through decks to fix the errors and then rematch. Does not affect layout.
-Arc decks were updated to include Separator cavities and quad kicks to properly model the Recirculation orbit through the region.
-The AT Extraction design is nearly complete. One more iteration with Mechanical Engineering and it should be done.
-Once AT is done we will release the BSY2T through BSYAT as well as Hall B and Hall C for inclusion in the CED. CED is being used by a lot of things right now. Extremely important to get the elements in to Michele Joyce.
-Extra parameters to validate orientation of magnet.
-Hall B wants to bring back the elevation of their beamline to historic height. Nominally a 1.2 cm elevation change from what's in the design presently. Mechanical Engineering needs to look at cartridges to see if we have what we need for adjustment. As Hall B APEL Mike T. will work to make the changes to the official deck.
-Vertical kickers are being used to control the Lambertson elevation for 2T, 4T, 6T, 8T and AT. No longer relying on quad kicks with new AT layout. Need 12 A trims for BD correctors. Need to fix layout of BD correctors in 1C and 3C to optimize pitch point for vertical orbit. Plan to restore design to 4GeV layout.
-Stray field from Hall C SHMS detector strong enough to deflect the beam 34 cm at the beam dump. Not good. Mitigations under discussion.
HLA Support from CASA
-Still looking for names and dates. Todd Satogata has taken the lead to get this done.
-Modeling team meets Tuesday morning and reports to the B-Team in the afternoon.
Director's Commissioning Review Close-out Report June 6-7, 2013. Review was to understand the Beam Commissioning Plan and the Accelerator Readiness Review.
-For copies of talks, contact Crystal Baker, x7174
-Feedback was generally positive.
-Committee thought November was do-able, but very ambitious.
-Committee thought the Accelerator Readiness Review (ARR) - too focused on paper and safety and not enough on technical readiness. The ARR is a DOE mandated requirement.
-Consider moving the date of the ARR from late August to sometime in October.
-Control Room Team - Crew Chief is in charge. This needs to be addressed in the AOD Supplement.
-Radcon to validate shielding around the site through beam-based measurements.
-Calibration of new diagnostics needs to be added to plan.
-Mont has asked that the report be fact-checked by Thursday. Andrew working on group to figure out how to respond to the report.
Action Items:
1. Yves has action item to check the layout with JH magnets not parallel to 8060.
2. Yves to release the remaining decks to AHLA once AT line is complete.
3. Mike T. to complete AT layout.
4. Mike T. to update the Hall B deck to fix the elevation.
5. Mike S. will update the B-Team lists (calendar, mail lists, etc.) Expect to be back in MCC after July 4.
6. Jay to present Hall C stray field issue at next B-Team.</pre></div></body></html>
