Colleagues:<br>
<br>
Today the RFpower staff is recovering as much of the RF system as
possible in preparation for scaling the machine to 2.0GeV/pass
(1GeV/linac). In parallel, the injector experts are investigated
if the beam instability is sourced in the injector. The OTR on the
spectrometer dump shows some energy instability and this might be
the source of our CW woes
(<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3279059">https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3279059</a>). A download file, scaled
from the all-save from this morning has been downloaded in the
magnets. If we're linear this should be a good place to start the
2GeV/pass setup. <br>
<br>
With that said, it is hoped that the 2GeV/pass beam setup will start
during Swing shift and continue through to Swing on Tuesday. It is
hoped that Supplemental LASO support will terminate before Swing
Tuesday, but just in case I've filled out the shift schedule up to
Thursday Day.<br>
<br>
The program over the next for days are (in priority order):<br>
<ol>
<li>E>6GeV to Hall-A dump with target in place, events recorded
and tune-mode beam (<b>MUST</b>)<br>
</li>
<li>Try CW again (assuming the source in the Injector has been
identified and repaired) and establish maximum supportable CW
current up to 100uA. The hall has no need for this anymore, as
they are warming up their target. This test is just for us to
learn what other limits are out there. Spend at most 8h on
this. (SHOULD)<br>
</li>
<li>Beam optics measurements to document this setup. I am working
with Todd to create the list of measurements. This will be the
focus of our efforts Wednesday/Thursday. (SHOULD)<br>
</li>
<li>If time is available work with the Hall-A to support any
remaining commissioning activities. The major item on the list
would be the Moller commissioning which requires that they get a
bipolar supply for the Moller quad. (SHOULD) <br>
</li>
</ol>
<br>
If we have achieved item 1 by Friday 6am, beam will be
terminated. Otherwise the beam program can extend until item 1
has been achieved. Hall-A has been informed that they will not be
receiving beam after the April Down as we will be focused on the
5.5pass spin-up and optics/scaling measurements. <br>
<br>
Cheers,<br>
