Extending beam operations beyond Friday was needed for a complete set of optics measurements. As mentioned on Thursday morning, the Cryo group got another chance to recover CHL-1 from another trip (late Thursday night). Thus cryo did in fact get another set of pump down data before transitioning to 4K. The last update to the "progress chart" is below. Beam "s" was limited over the weekend to 9R due to the AR (Arc ten) power supply issue.

This morning the Summer shutdown work started. The radiation levels in the North and South linac are not quite "public level safe". There needs to be three to four half-lives reduction to meet that standard, or if the radiation source is localized special shielding can be deployed to reduce the radiation levels. RADCON will be assessing the radiation throughout the week to determine if the levels are reduced enough for a safe tunnel tour during the open house.

Cheers,
Arne

--

Arne Freyberger

Director of Accelerator Operations

Jefferson Lab

12000 Jefferson Avenue Cell: (757) 876-6289

Postal Suite 19 Email: freyberg@jlab.org

Newport News, VA 23606
