Dear colleagues,

As I mentioned in the CASA coffee, here is some additional information about
IPAC'22 abstracts and SULI/REU students.

(*) IPAC'22
   - Conference website: https://www.ipac22.org

   - Dates/Deadlines: https://www.ipac22.org/dates-and-deadlines/
Abstract submission and student grant deadlines are Fri Jan 7 2022

   - Abstracts should be entered in the publication system and approved for
publication *before they are submitted to the conference*:

     https://misportal.jlab.org/ul/publications/index.cfm

Log in then click "Submit"; document type Meeting / Conference.
Later in the form, you will have to identify the Meeting/Conference.
Pull-down the year 2022; if IPAC22 is not showing, enter a starting
date of 2022, Name "IPAC22", and Location of "Bangkok, Thailand".

(*) REU students for summer 2022
   - Geoff Krafft sent around the following email (with link) on Nov
     15. Please review the research list and contact Geoff and Crystal
directly if you are interested in mentoring a student and your
potential project is not listed yet. Remember that hosting a
student will require you to work with them on deliverables for the
end of the summer -- a talk, poster, and preferably also a tech
note or later publication at a conference.

   - Mail from Geoff:
We will be holding an Research Experience for Undergraduates
session for 2022. It is time to start updating projects for this
summer's program. As happened last year, I anticipate that we may
be forced into a remote program again. Thus projects that can be
completed in remote mode may be preferred. The following is a
link to the REU projects now listed at the site.

     https://www.jlab.org/accelerator/reu/research

Those of you already listed, please check the projects still
apply. As in the past, the student will be paid directly from REU
funds for the ten weeks after Memorial Day. If you are interested
in hosting a student, please provide Crystal and me a title and
paragraph description of the project that can be added at the
     site. Thanks for your help.

                                                 -Todd
