Friends,

Per the straw poll, we shall celebrate your not getting rid of me on Saturday, July 10. Here's the plan:

  *   To alleviate possible hesitancy with regard to indoor gatherings, we'll have a potluck at Sandy Bottom Nature Park (Hampton) in Courtyard Shelter 1. I would have liked to rent a larger space but was caught off guard by the fact that everyone wants to party in that park on Saturdays and the decent shelters are apparently booked for months ahead of time. Anyway, we'll start at 4 pm and will be thrown out of the park at sunset. I'll try to provide some non-alcoholic beverages (per park regulations), a big salad, and maybe a cake or two.
  *   I live next door; whoever wants to keep celebrating is invited to my place. In this case and if you plan on driving, I suggest that you leave your car at Meridian Parkside in the visitor parking lot (gate code 3673) so you can just walk over to the park and don't have to move your car multiple times. The area is also fairly bike-friendly. Yup, I still don't know how Americans think.
