Steve,
As long as Todd and Yuhong are okay with it, I'm up for the trip. I've included a preliminary abstract and co-authors below, if you could take a look at it before I send it around to co-authors and submit it into the publication system. Co-author list is taken from Colwyn's IPAC paper, since I figured that was the most recent overview publication.

Development of an ERL for Coherent Electron Cooling at the Electron-Ion Collider
The Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) is currently under development of to be built at Brookhaven National Lab and requires cooling during collisions in order to preserve the quality of the hadron beam despite degradation due to intra-beam scattering and beam-beam effect. An Energy Recovery Linac (ERL) is being designed to deliver the necessary electron beam for the Coherent electron Cooling (CeC) of the hadron beam, with an electron bunch charge of 1 nC and an average current of 100 mA; two modes of operation are being developed for 150 and 55 MeV electrons, corresponding to 250 and 100 GeV protons. The injector of this SHC-ERL is shared with the Precooler ERL, which cools lower energy proton beams via conventional bunched-beam cooling. This paper reviews the current state of the design.

Kirsten,
I think you should try to get permission to give a presentation about the ERL for the EIC cooler at COOL 23 workshop this fall. The workshop is in Montreux, Switzerland the week of October 9. Could you write up a short abstract to submit for this? You would also have to fill out the spreadsheet for travel approval. Note that some of the people we might normally send will be involved with the EIC Directors’ review that week so they will not be able to go. Also note that the deadline for the abstracts is nominally June 15 (yes, this Thursday). At this point I am fine with a placeholder that talks in general terms about the ERL design.
Steve Benson
