Hi folks,

Please see the below; the 5th grade BEAMS program is back to on site
visits. It can be a fun program for outreach and influencing the next
generation of STEM students at a time when they are still open-minded
and full of wonder. I'll look into signing up for sometime in the

Hello Lab Leadership Team,

I wanted to make you aware that we are back to having our BEAMS program on-site on-going now and need volunteers. Please share this with your teams. If you already volunteer - thank you, please spread the word. Personally, it has been rewarding and fun to visit with the students since I started last year.

What is BEAMS?

Becoming Enthusiastic about Math and Science (BEAMS) is a program based on role model visits that happen here at the lab and YOU are the role model. You give a mini career talk to a small group of students about your job at the Lab.  This talk includes your education, what brought you to the Lab and what you enjoy about working here. It takes 15 minutes can be in a conference room, lab or office - we will work with you on the location. The Role Model visit is designed to expose elementary and 
middle students from Newport News schools to the multiple STEM careers we have from Physics to engineering, computer science, accounting, architecture, and IT to name a few. All are welcome to participate.



The only time commitment is 15min, _11:00 to 11:15_ on a given Tuesday or Friday.
