Dear CASA colleagues,

If you are not early career (more than 12 years post-PhD) you can
ignore the rest of this message. :)

As was mentioned in the CASA coffee meeting this morning, the FOA
for the DOE early career award (ECA) research program came out
recently -- information is at

https://science.osti.gov/early-career

This is a highly competitive program across all DOE facilities
and universities. Eligibility requirements are again extended (for
the last time) to 12 years post-degree. Pre-applications are mandatory
and are due on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. ET. If you
are eligible and interested, I highly encourage you to review the
award abstracts listed on the above page to get a feeling for the
type of and level of research that is typically funded by this
program.

Lab leadership is planning a kickoff meeting for ECAs early next
week, and they have asked for a list of potential applicants to
invite to this meeting. Please let me know if you are interested
in submitting a pre-application to this program by COB today. Thanks,
and cheers!

                                                 -Todd
