[Casa] Director’s All-Staff Meeting - Aug. 11

Dear CASA folks,

You likely (surely?) received an all-hands email about an all-staff
meeting on Monday at 11 AM, about the new Director's announcement to
implement a workforce restructuring plan.

I understand both the timing and the short notice of the meeting
may well be alarming. I don't have any firm information about the
details, but I'm sure more details will be shared in due time.

Organizational changes are not uncommon with changes in leadership,
as we and JSA go through the recompete process into next year, and
as we further transition towards being a multi-purpose DOE laboratory.
I am optimistic, as some, most, or even all of the organizational
changes that are planned could well be for the better for both our
everyday processes, and the long-term health and success of the lab.

I'll be available to anyone to discuss any concerns and observations,
as always. I'll be at the lab Monday-Wednesday next week, to both
attend this all-hands in person, and have a one-on-one meeting with
the new Director on Tuesday afternoon to talk with him about CASA,
and our mission, history, and relationship to operations, accelerator
AI/ML, EIC, and the LERF/FEL facility.
