Dear All,
at the last CalCom meeting, we started a discussion about the tools we
would like to have to manage constants in the calibration database and
perform actions such load or dump constants for specific run ranges,
list available variations, copy constants from variations to variations
etc. For CLAS this was done with scripts, while for CLAS12 Gagik is
proposing to extends the common tools in order to do that. This requires
the extension of the CCDB API functionalities that we need to discuss
with the CCDB experts.

For this purpose, it was decided to dedicate one of the next CalCom
meeting to this topic inviting the Hall D CCDB experts in order to hear
from them how they have been doing this for GlueX, present our work
scheme and discuss the requests we may have.
_
In order to prepare for such meeting, we would like to ask detector
groups and calibrators to provide feedback on the kind of tools and
functionalities they would like to have to handle calibration constants
based on the work they have been doing and past experience from working
in CLAS or other experiments. _The input you can provide will be
important to develop a complete workflow for the handling of calibration
constants and come up with a comprehensive lists of functionalities we
need of have.

Please send your input by replying to this email before next Friday,
August 5. We will discuss about it at the CalCom meeting.
Best regards,
     Raffaella
