[Clas12_dileptons] [EXTERNAL] Re: Meeting tomorrow

Hi all

I have teaching at 2pm (UK) so may not be able to make the meeting, or may only be able to attend very briefly at the beginning.

Just to let you know that I (along with Dave Ireland) have student, Ryan, who is working on developing a gaussian process ML for data analysis and observable interpolation. This project will focus on polarization observables from previous CLAS measurements and eventually incorporate other world data.

The point is that I have been thinking about his situation a lot recently and have come to the conclusion that I also want him to do/contribute to an actual data analysis (separate from and not involving any of the project he is working on that I described in the paragraph above) . Stepan has previously said, our dilepton group could be doing with some more student power. Exactly which dilepton analysis he does is up for discussion and whether he could get up to speed quickly enough to help with some of the tasks on Pierre's long list for example. Myself and Richard spoke about this last week before he headed to the US and it is clear that Ryan will certainly not have to start from any blank page.

Both myself and Ryan will be over for the CLAS meeting, so that may be a good opportunity to have some discussions in person.
